"A Gardener Abroad - The Alhambra"
By Caroline Halfpenny

Obsessed with plants from an early age I finally got a job with Horticulture Services for Gravesham Borough Council. In my late 20's, I completed a degree in Landscape Management. After a few years as a private gardener, I lectured at Hadlow College. I then went self-employed and currently look after three private gardens and lecture for the RHS one day a week, as well as running bespoke gardening courses for Hever Castle and my local Garden Centre.

"Growing Flowers for Cutting"
By Sophie Leathart
Sophie Leathart has been a freelance florist for over 30 years. In 2016 she returned to her first love, horticulture and began working for a number of clients. She set up a cutting flower border for one of her customers. She has also worked for Iris of Sissinghurst for the past eight years, helping with the staging of the Cayeux Iris exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for four years. She is keen on sustainable floristry techniques, including using locally sourced flowers.
